Dave is a Cyber Security advisor with over 23 years experience in the digital industries, a significant part of which has been spent either directly working for, representing or advising the Local Government and Health sectors. Amongst his roles, he has been a security tester (‘hacker’) and security lead (‘being hacked’); a trainer and L&D specialist, sector representative and consultant in security Governance, Risk and Compliance to leaders and technical teams.

Whilst he has a technical background, for the last 13+ years, he has focussed on building practical understanding of cyber issues within the senior levels of organisations, demonstrating their vitality for business, and translating technical concerns and issues into organisational challenges and opportunities.

His current work with the Local Government Association adds further experience into their Cyber and Digital Programme, bolstering their work on Sector Led Improvement and the services offered to the community, including the Bespoke Cyber Support programme and its ‘Cyber 360’ peer reviews.
