Jan has responsibility for ENABLE Scotland Charity within the ENABLE Group. Through her leadership, the team delivers charity services, including membership services for a growing network of 12,000 individuals, campaigns, policy and participation, and community advocacy projects which directly support over 1100 people every year.

Jan advises on learning disability policy as a member of the Scottish Government’s Learning Disability and Autism Leadership Group, and leads the secretariat of the Cross Party Group for Learning Disability in the Scottish Parliament.

As Chair of the Scottish Government Additional Support for Learning Implementation Group, she helps ensure education policy best reflects the needs of children who have a learning disability, and led the Group to commission of a national independent review of Additional Support for Learning in 2020.   Jan is a Trustee of the Scottish Commission on Learning Disabilities (SCLD) and Vice Chair of Glasgow Caledonian University Students Association.
