Peter Cardwell is a political commentator, author, non-executive director, consultant and speaker.
He grew up in a small village in Northern Ireland. His first job after graduating from Oxford was as a researcher on BBC Newsnight, working closely with Jeremy Paxman. He’s also worked for BBC Washington, Question Time, Sky News and reported for ITV, 5 News, UTV and BBC Northern Ireland, as well as writing for publications including The Daily Telegraph, The Johannesburg Star, The Irish Times and Your Cat magazine.
Peter holds a Master’s Degree from Columbia School of Journalism, where he was Alistair Cooke Fulbright Scholar. He spent three and a half years years as a special adviser in the May and Johnson administrations, working for four Cabinet ministers.
He is the author of The Secret Life of Special Advisers and a frequent political commentator in national and international broadcast and print media.
