Pam Smith is the Chief Executive of Stockport Council. She is also Greater Manchester’s Lead Chief Executive for ‘Age Friendly Greater Manchester’ and the Solace lead spokesperson for Housing.

Pam was previously Chief Executive at Burnley Council and has worked across a number of GM authorities.  She has also worked for the Audit Commission.

Pam’s main passion is to build strong teams, which have residents at the heart of everything the council does. Her focus is to ensure Stockport continues to be a success regionally, nationally and internationally.

A key driver for Pam is for residents to embrace new ways to seek advice, guidance and support from the council. Stockport is taking an innovative approach to creating new and better online services by ensuring residents are involved in the design process and have access to digital skills training.

Pam is proud to be working as part of GM and the GM Mayor’s office to establish the first Mayoral Development Corporation of its kind; driving the creation of a new urban village of up to 3,000 new homes and supporting social infrastructure – making Stockport a destination of choice to live, work, play and connect.
