Statement from Solace President on proposed winter General Election
Martin Swales, Solace UK President and Chief Executive of South Tyneside MBC, said: “A winter General Election poses a challenging set of circumstances but I am confident Returning Officers and their election teams will do their utmost to ensure the proposed forthcoming General Election will be delivered smoothly and professionally.
“Solace members will be working with the Cabinet Office, MHCLG and other bodies to overcome any practical challenges posed by the timing of this election.
“Following the assurances provided by the Chancellor in last month’s Spending Round, we look forward to the next Government publishing the Local Government Finance Settlement as soon as practically possible and providing the sector with the financial clarity it needs.”
