Solace elects a new President
Over the last week, Solace members have been asked to elect a new Solace President. This is a statement from Gavin Jones, interim Chair of the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives and Senior Managers (Solace) in relation to the election:
“Mark Rogers (CEO Birmingham) concludes his term of office as Solace President at the Solace AGM in Gateshead on 12th October. Following a formal nominations process earlier in September, the election to find his replacement concluded this week.
Of the 956 full Solace members eligible to vote, we received 289 votes – a turnout of 30%.
The votes were cast as follows:
– Jo Miller, Chief Executive Doncaster Council – 174 votes (60.21%)
– Trevor Holden, Chief Executive Luton Council – 115 votes (39.79%)
Jo Miller will, therefore, be recommended for the role of Solace President for a term of two years to the Solace AGM on 12 October.”
