BDO and SOLACE would be delighted if you could join them and a select group of senior officers and partners at an upcoming event to debate local authorities' role in 'market making'. The purpose of the event is to challenge the way in which authorities typically identify and plan options for delivery as part of their commissioning process. All too often we tend to think only of the 'usual suspects' such as shared services, outsourcing or in-house delivery. This event will consider how authorities can drive a step change in public sector delivery models partly by using an outcomes-based approach to specifying the needs of the council and its resident, but also by stimulating the market to respond more effectively to this challenge.
-Gavin Jones, Chief Executive of Swindon Borough Council
-Sarah Rayner and Shaun O’Leary, Assistant Directors for Procurement and Commissioning, LB Hounslow (tbc)
-Philip Ruston, Business Development Director, Serco
-Charlie Wigglesworth, Head of Business Development and Olof Jonsdottir, Policy and Public Affairs Manager, Social Enterprise UK
The event will begin with lunch at 1.00pm and will finish at 4.30pm, and you will be very welcome to stay for a drink and a chance to carry on the discussion with other delegates.
